The 38 Bach Flower Remedies

Discover the holistic system of gentle vibrational medicine developed by Dr. Edward Bach to restore mental calm, emotional resilience, and spiritual harmony.

The Founder & Origin

Who Was Dr. Edward Bach? (1886–1936)

Dr. Edward Bach was a distinguished British physician, surgeon, bacteriologist, and pathologist at University College Hospital in London, as well as a leading researcher at the London Homeopathic Hospital. Despite his clinical success in conventional and homeopathic medicine, Dr. Bach observed that treating merely physical symptoms often failed to produce lasting wellness.

He recognized that two patients with the exact same physical diagnosis recovered completely differently depending on their internal emotional state—their fears, grief, despair, or hope. This monumental insight led him to leave his lucrative London practice in 1930 and retreat to the English countryside to develop a pure, non-toxic healing modality derived entirely from wildflowers.

Key Work: Heal Thyself

Published in 1931, Dr. Bach's seminal work established that true health is the harmonious union between the Soul, Mind, and Body.

Original Teachings of Dr. Edward Bach

The Pure & Simple Method of Healing

"No science, no knowledge is necessary, apart from the simple methods described herein; and they who will obtain the greatest benefit from this God-sent Gift will be those who keep it pure as it is; free from science, free from theories, for everything in Nature is simple." — Dr. Edward Bach (The Twelve Healers, 1936)

Fundamental Principle

1. Treat the Individual, Not the Disease

Dr. Bach's Core Law

The Mind as the Guide to the Cause

"In treating cases with these remedies no notice is taken of the nature of the disease. The individual is treated, and as he becomes well the disease goes, having been cast off by the increase of health."

"The mind being the most delicate and sensitive part of the body, shows the onset and the course of disease much more definitely than the body, so that the outlook of mind is chosen as the guide as to which remedy or remedies are necessary."

Dr. Bach's Direct Instruction: "Take no notice of the disease, think only of the outlook on life of the one in distress."

What Lies Behind All Disease
The True Cause

"Behind all disease lie our fears, our anxieties, our greed, our likes and dislikes. Let us seek these out and heal them, and with the healing of them will go the disease from which we suffer."

Simplicity of Selection

"Thirty-eight different states are simply described: and there should be no difficulty either for oneself, or for another, to find that state or a mixture of states which are present."

3. The Two Preparation Methods

The Sun Method (Solar Infusion)

Used for 20 summer-blooming wildflowers. Freshly opened flower heads are picked on a bright, cloudless morning before dew evaporates, floated on pure spring water in a thin glass bowl, and left in full sunshine for 3 to 4 hours. The energized water is then filtered and preserved 50/50 with pure grape brandy.
